I was able to get a few new pieces for my apartment this week.  I went with 40 dollars in my pocket, and wasn't going to spend a penny more.  I think I did pretty well with my budget.  I ended up purchasing all of my items from TJ Maxx.  Before I go shopping, I always look at my favorite stores that I so desperately wish that I could afford (such as Anthropologie) and find items similar, but more affordable.  I think I did well, let me know what you think!

gluten-free m&m rice krispies

FINALLY!

Rice Krispies are officially gluten-free and I couldn't be more thrilled!

As soon as I found out Rice Krispies were gluten-free, I picked up a box at the grocery store, and decided to make my favorite treat... Rice Krispies with m&ms. DE-LICIOUS.

The directions on how to make basic Rice Krispies are on the back of the box, all I added to the recipe was plain m&ms.

What you'll need:

non-stick pan

spatula

skillet

6 cups brown rice rice krispies

3 tablespoons of butter

4 cups of mini marshmellows/or 1 bag of large marshmellows

1 medium bag of plain m&ms

Recipe for gluten-free m&m Rice Krispies:

-Melt butter in skillet over low heat.

-Stir in marshmellows until they are melt.

-Remove from heat.

-Add rice krispies and m&ms.

-Stir until it becomes gooey.

-Put the rice krispies in a non-stick pan.

-enjoy!

poole wedding 07/22/2011

My great friend from growing up recently got married this past weekend.

I had the privilege of decorating with my brilliantly talented cousin, Jodi, who just so happens to be a wedding florist.  My best friend, Kelsey was also there to help, along with my cousins Anders, and his girlfriend, Katelyn.  The day couldn't have been more perfect---The weather was just right (75 degrees), all the flowers in the Green Villa Garden were in full bloom, and the bride (Liz) couldn't have been more stunning.

wide-leg trousers

i had totally forgotten about these trousers that i purchased in march at tj maxx. i was going through my pants, trying to figure out which ones i wanted to get rid of, and i came across these beauties. i am a lover of wide-leg trousers, but like most, i'm not always sure how to wear them. for me, they look best with a tucked in top and belt. these pants also look great paired with a loose blouse [make sure it's not too long though... that can make anyone look bigger than they actually are]. these trousers are all over the place for fall, so i recommend buying a pair! i purchased mine for only $19 at tj maxx, so if you're on a tight budget like moi, you can still afford a pair! they look great on every body type, and even our guest poster from yesterday [bex] can't get enough of them! they are a great addition if you don't already have a pair.

Hello all, I'm Bex, the lady behind Bex... a style diary and I'll be entertaining you for the next few minutes.
When Molly asked me to do a guest post I have to tell you I was super excited and honored for a few reasons.

1. I happen to find Molly absolutely A-dorable! Her sweet spirit and class are evident in every post she writes. love that about her.

2. I enjoy meeting new people and making new friends. I'm an Army brat, meeting new friends has been my life's habit. 

And 3. I'm itching to share a few of my recent style obsessions. 

First a lil back story on me, don't worry I won't go too deep.

I started a style blog back in November and have been hooked ever since. Sharing my views and documenting my outfits has been an incredible learning experience for me. I've learned a lot about myself through this fun hobby and its actually made me a bit bolder in my approach towards trying new things. Hey fashion is a lot like life, ever changing, and if you learn to change along with it you'll have a journey that is full of color, fun and whimsy.

Speaking of whimsy I really wanted to share a look that I can NOT get out of my mind.

I know that it is the middle of July, hot. hot. hot., but I'm dreaming of a cool Fall right about now. 

I'm employed at LOFT and we've just received our first wave of Fall product. Trousers are everywhere and I am in serious obsession mode.

These olive green trousers had my heart from the moment I laid eyes on them because I knew they could be the jumping off point for SOOO many wonderful Fall looks. This is a look I plan on using at the first chance of cold weather. Fur vest, wide brimmed felt hat, dark cherry nails and an arm full of bangles and a chunky watch? Yes please!!
